President’s Desk

I am happy that our students, as expected have excelled in their performances in Academics, Sports and Cultural Activities. I take this opportunity to congratulate them, Teachers and the Principal on their commendable efforts. However, at the same time, I would like to stress that though much has been achieved by our School in the last three decades, more is expected.

We are standing on the threshold of New Age – an Age of knowledge. It is gradually unveiling vast changes particularly in the field of education resulting in the creation of vast opportunities for the young irrespective of gender. It is an age of competition. So our prestigious Institution has to open its doors for the new wind of change to train our girls to meet the new challenges. Their minds are to be ignited to take wings for Scaling and Achieving. New values are to be inculcated in our girls but without discarding the old ones which preserve our rich culture. As poet Tennyson has put it:

The old order change, yielding place to new
And God fulfills, Himself in many ways
Lest one good custom should corrupt the world.

Let our Institution become worthy of the name it bears – Kittur Rani Channamma, the first woman freedom fighter of India; and at the same time fulfill the expectations of its Founder Shri. S. R. Kanthi and visionaries Shri. Nijalingappa and Shri. B.D.Jatti who promote it. Kittur Rani Channamma Residential School should develop into a National Institution of Excellence in Girls’ Education.

I assure the parents and the public that the Board of Governors and Members of the Kittur Rani Channamma Memorial Committee will remain committed to this goal in the days to come.
