Competitive Examinations:
To attain academic excellence, wider reading beyond the confines of the prescribed text-book and syllabus, girls are prepared to take many competitive examinations such as NTSE, (National Talent Search Examination) conducted by NCERT. All India General Knowledge Tests, This has immensely benefited the mental development of our students qualifying every year 2 or more national scholars and 6-8 state scholars.
Computer Learning:
Computer literacy training has been set up in a well equipped laboratory. There are two resident teachers who put the children through their paces right from their entry into the School until they are completely familiar with the operating the equipment and its many accessories by the time they set out to specialize in senior college and university.
Literary Competitions:
The competitive spirit is of vital importance to children stepping out of the shelter of a residential school in to a world in which the pace of living is getting faster every day and the laggard invariably gets left behind. The importance of healthy competition is drilled into our children all through their seven years with us. There are inter-dormitory competitions in every single sphere of activity. Feverish preparation precedes each event and the enthusiasm of the children is so high that it ‘infects’ the House Teachers who go all out to help the children in their charge to win each event. Indoors, we conduct Public speaking, Debates and quiz contests to help the girls to get over stage fright, which is a common weakness. It is dealt with firmly from the start by putting them on a stage and the dias often and by requiring them to participate in Elocutions and Dramatics as part of their training in the Performing Arts.
Common Entrance Test: In order to cater for good preparation for Common Entrance Examination for Professional Courses at XII Std. Sufficient emphasis is laid on Common Entrance Test. Right from the XI Std it self the classes for the C.E.T. are conducted in the evenings from the first week of the academic year. This will follow up for XII Std too. Expert Lectures in the field are hired as per the requirement.
Shramadan: Shramadan means involving oneself in labour. This is an important activity conducted once in a month, where the teaching staff, the administrative staff and the students come together to lend a helping hand in cleaning campus. The teachers, who are engaged in white-collar jobs, involve themselves along with the students in giving a clean and tidy look to the campus. The Shramadan helps the students learn about the importance of environment cleanliness. They develop the feeling of togetherness and come in direct contact with nature.
